"It is time for Ontario's lowest-paid and most vulnerable workers to receive a fair increase in their earnings," Labour Minister Chris Bentley said in a statement. "By delivering this positive change, we are providing an opportunity for all to benefit from Ontario's economic prosperity."
Starting Feb. 1, the minimum wage will increase by 30 cents, from $6.85 to $7.15 an hour. It will thereafter be increased in increments every year on Feb. 1 until it hits $8 an hour in 2007.
