Germany’s IT-Specialists Temporary Relief Program
IT-specialists in the information and communications technology sector from all non-European Union countries are welcome to apply for employment.
Nationals of EU-member states do not need a work permit in Germany.
In order to get a Green Card you have to meet the following requirements:
you are an IT-specialist with university or polytechnic qualifications (e.g. Bachelor's or Master’s Degree). You sign a working contract with a german company by same conditions like employees from the german labour market. If the employer in the western federal states guarantees an annual salary of at least 39.600,- € or in the eastern federal states 32.700,- € it is unnecessary to check if the salary meets the wages regulations.
For specialists without a degree but with several years of job experience, the employer has to agree in paying an annual salary of at least 51.000,- € .
Furthermore the company has to be located in Germany, the contract must be based on German law and the employment has to be liable to social subscription. The work permit is issued in accordance with the length of your employment contract, but may not exceed five years.
Experience shows that most of the German companies require a diploma in an IT related subject or several years of job experience. Additionally, a good command of the German language is indispensable for German employers to take your application into consideration.
